Total Cost of Ownership cho valve = 3 component:

- Probability of failure × Cost of failure

Sai Lầm Phổ Biến: "Risk Bằng 0"
CFO + procurement không thường nghĩ về Risk-Weighted Loss vì nó "không nhìn thấy được". Nhưng:

- Budget constraint primary
Avoid Cheapest Bidder (no-brand) luôn luôn:
- Hydrocarbon service
- Toxic chemical service
- High-temperature (> 300°C)
- Any safety duty

- "What's the brand commitment from manufacturer?" — Premium = local engineering support, no-brand = ship-and-forget.

Kết Luận
CFO thông minh không chỉ nhìn purchase price — họ nhìn expected total cost over operating life. Cho critical valve, premium brands gần như luôn lower TCO.
